Skardu boasts attractions like the historic Skardu Fort, Satpara Lake, and Shangrila Resort. Adventure seekers flock here for trekking, mountaineering, and jeep safaris. Trekking to K2 Base Camp begins at Askole village, passing through campsites like Paiju and Goro II. The journey showcases stunning landscapes, massive glaciers, and towering peaks, but it demands physical fitness and readiness for challenging conditions. K2 Base Camp, notably Concordia, sits at the junction of Baltoro Glacier and Godwin-Austen Glacier. At 4,700 meters (15,420 feet), it offers awe-inspiring vistas of K2, Broad Peak, Gasherbrum I, and Gasherbrum II.
Day 1 (D-01 Skardu)
Early hours transfer to the airport for a flight to Skardu, which is a very spectacular mountain flight If unable to fly, due to bad weather.
Alternatively, we take one day drive to Skardu, along the Karakorum Highway.
Day 2 (D-02 Askoli (3000)m)
Drive to Askoli by jeep via Shigar Valley (6-7 hrs) 3000Mtr. Meals & O/n in camp It is a spectacular drive from Skardu to Askoli; the jeep road crosses the heralds River three times and passes the villages of Dassu, Apligon, Pakora, Hoto, Chongo, and Thongal. There are hot Sulphur Springs just 20 minutesbehind Thongal. Around the hot springs are copper colored stones known asLimpi Kiser (Kiser Fort) King Kiser was a mythical ruler with magicalpowers- dozens of legends tell of his exploits in Baltistan, Nagar and Hunza.
Day 3 (D-03 Johla (3200)m)
Trek to Johla (5-6 hrs), meals & O/n in camp.
Today we have panoramic view of Bakhor Das peak 5809m) also mighty BiafoGlacier. Follow the riverside trail to the confluence of the Biafo andDumordo rivers. Cross the formidable Domordo River, which flows from the
Panmah glaciers, on a cable to Johla, camp at Johla at 3300m
Day 4 (D-04 Paiyu (3600)m)
Trek to Paiyu (6-7 hrs) (3650Mrs) Meals & O/n in camp
This is an undulating walk, difficult at times, with the first views ofdramatic mountains ahead. There is a rest stop by some tamarisk trees besidethe stream flowing down from Paiyu Peak, where we saw ibex tracks and fox
spore. The trail climbs to a vantage point from which you see the snout ofBaltoro Glacier and, in the far distance, a magnificent panorama of theCathedral Towers and, left of them, the unmistakable triangle of K2.
Day 5 (D-05 Paiyu- Rest day(3600)m)
Free day for local exploration and Porter will prepare their food forfurther trek also kill the goat, Meals & O/n in camp
Day 6 (D-06 -Khubursay)
Trek to Khubursay (4-5-hrs). Beautiful views of Great Trango & UliBiaho Towers. The tail traverses the glacier angling gently towards its southeast margin. Exit the glacier into the ablation valley at Liligo. The route alternates between the lateral moraine and the glacier, heading out onthe glacier to avoid the outflow from the advancing Liligo glacier. Continuetrek to Khubursay overnight in Camp.
Day 7 (D—07 Urdukas (4210m))
Urdukas, named for the obvious split boulder. Camp with itsextraordinary views of Paiyu Peak (6610-m, UliBiaho (6417-m) Great TrangoTower (6286-m), Lobsang Spire (5707-m) and the Cathedral Towers. Meals & overnight in Camp
Day 8 (D-08 Goro-II)
Trek to Goro-II (5-6 hrs) 4525 Mts, a spectacular view of Masherbrum (7821m)
& Muztagh Tower (7284m).Meals & O/n in Camp
Day 9 (D- 09 CONCORDIA (5 to 6 hours))
We reach Concordia(4,600m) where the Baltoro, Abruzzi and Godwin Austen Glaciers converge, within a radius of 15 kilometres there are an incredible 41 peaks over 6,500m with 4 over 8,000m including K2 (8611m), the second highest mountain of the world. Concordia, the meeting place of five glaciers is named after "Place de la Concorde" in Paris.
Day 10 (D- 10: K-2 BASE CAMP:)
A Day trip for exploration. visit to K2 and Broad Peak base camps, or simply relaxing in one of the most spectacular locations on Earth. Overnight at Concordia
Day 11 (D- 11: SHACHSPONG)
We begin trek descending first to Shachspong (4100m) where we have magnificent views of the surrounding granite spires and towers. Overnight Camp.
Day 12 (KHUBURSAY)
We continue our descent of the Baltoro glacier, today reaching as far as Horbose Overnight Camp.
Day 13 (D-13: PAIYU:)
Crossing the Baltoro to its north side beneath the towers of UliBiaho we finally climb down its snout to reach a good trail back to the spring oasis of Paiyu overnight Camp.
Day 14 (D- 14: JHOLA)
Following the Braldu River downstream, overnight camp at Jula
Day 15 (D- 15: SKARDU)
The final day of trekking to the village of Askole. Here we say goodbye to our porters. We start drive to Skardu directly after reaching Askoli 6/7 hours jeep ride to Skardu through the fascinating of Barldo river
Day 16 (D- 16: ISLAMABAD)
Flight from Skardu to Islamabad.
